Voki Stories for Fluency

Students were asked to write a story about something exciting that happened to them over the summer.  They then practiced their story to read it with fluency. This means that they read it smoothly and with good expression.  Once they were ready to read their story fluently, they create a Voki to match what they look like.  We matched the background to the story's setting as best we could.  They then recorded their story using the phone.  To see and hear their Voki stories, please click on the play button for each Voki.  Enjoy their stories!  They are very exciting!

Patriot Recommendations for the Neville Museum

For your fifth grade patriot research, there are some links below that will help you get started on finding information about your patriot.  You can also use the advanced search in Google to find information as Mrs. Belanger showed you.  If you find a really good website with information about several patriots or lots of information on a specific one, please let Mrs. Ellner to add it to this webpage.

Interview Projects

This fall, we worked on writing interview questions and then interviewing someone.  Each student was able to choose the person they wanted to interview.  While we could not arrange for an interview with the President of the United States, we did find other important people to interview.  Here are a couple of the videos that the students created with their interviews.  Enjoy!

Interview of Mr. Bogacz, PHS Football Coach

Interview of Mrs. Engel, Lannoye Principal

Please let us know what you think of our student projects.  We appreciate your feedback!
